Join us for our free Get Into the NHS course, which will involve employability workshops and support from our staff, a 3-week placement at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (healthcare assistant). For more information about this course or the roles on offer, sign up and we'll be in touch.

  • You must be based in the UK

  • You must be 17-30 years old

  • You must have the right to work in the UK

  • You must attend weekly online employability sessions in the 4 weeks leading up to placement.

  • You must commit to 3-week placement at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

Upon successful completion of the programme you will get a place on the Healthcare Assistant bank.

Will need documents for DBS check, photo ID & proof of address.

You can access:

  • Additional financial support.

  • One-to-one support as you apply for jobs and get ready for your interview.

  • One-to-one support after your interview, including during your first few months of work.

Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) may also be known as Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) or Support Workers. There are countless opportunities to help improve people's health in a role like this. There are 30 different Healthcare Support Worker roles you can choose from in seven areas of the NHS, including mental health, primary care, maternity, and children’s services. For example, you could be dietic assistant helping patients with nutrition or prosthetic technician helping patients become more mobile. All these roles help improve the lives of others. This entry-level role is an integral part of becoming a nurse and can lead to many career opportunities.
