Get Started in STEM and Construction

Our FREE course is an amazing opportunity for young people to gain skills and hands-on experience in STEM and Construction. Young people will build a replica modern home mimicking the modern green technologies being adopted by the housing industry. Replica houses will include: 1. Modular Design 2. Replica ground source heat pumps 3. Solar panels 4. Microprocessor control unit that controls each of the functions of the house on an Amoled screen 5. Electric car charging ports. 6. IOT (internet of things) challenges 7. Bespoke workshops to compliment STEM kit and practical challenges.

Young people will also: • Learn about the above technologies and why they are important to modern building design. • Gain experience of assembling basic electronic components and electrical safety. • Learn about coding and software. • Learn about different construction materials and processes. • Learn about health and safety considerations. • Develop soft skills including communication, teamwork, working to deadlines. • Understand the skills and qualifications needed to pursue a variety of careers/ roles in the construction industry including: engineering, design, electronics, STEM based topics and environmental sciences.
